Wrexham Pupils Invited to Get Creative in our Lend & Mend Competition

Local school children are being encouraged to put their imaginations to work in a new competition focused on borrowing, sharing, and mending.

The Wrexham Schools Creative Competition, organised by Lend & Mend, invites pupils aged 3 to 11 to submit artwork, stories, or posters inspired by the theme: “What would you like to have mended / what would you like to borrow?”

Entries can take the form of:

• Drawings or designs of items they’d like to borrow or lend

• Short stories or letters from the point of view of a borrowed item

• Posters that encourage mending instead of throwing away

Organisers hope the initiative will spark conversations around sustainability, reuse, and imaginative problem-solving.

“This competition gives young people the chance to reflect on how everyday items—often forgotten or discarded—can find new purpose through sharing or repair,” said a Amanda Barr from Lend & Mend.

Key Details:

• Open to: Foundation Phase (ages 3–7) and Key Stage 2 (ages 7–11) pupils

• Deadline: June 30th, 2025

• Prizes: Awarded to the winning pupil and their school in each age category

• Submit to: events@lendandmend.org.uk

A panel of judges will review submissions, with winners announced shortly after the deadline.
