Volunteer at Lend & Mend

Can you fix things?

The Lend and Mend movement is about borrowing, mending and sharing. It encourages people to use resources more wisely, reduce waste and strengthen community connections. Instead of everyone buying and owning everything, we believe in sharing what we already have; from tools to skills, to knowledge and time. We are looking for volunteers who have a background or competency in fixing things, whether it’s at home or in work.

We would love to have you join us.

If you have skills in:

  • Sewing/Upholstery
  • Small electrics or electronic repairs
  • Bicycle repairs
  • General woodwork
  • Computers
  • Time piece/Jewellery repair

Mending items is led by volunteers. It’s free! Practical, sustainable and rooted in kindness. Volunteers bring their expertise, making it a collaborative and educational experience.

Volunteers don’t just fix things, they also help behind the scenes by welcoming people, assisting with administration, taking photos, or simply offering refreshments.

We are a very friendly team and make everyone welcome. Volunteering means you get the opportunity to make a difference for people in the local community, to learn new skills, make new friends and have fun!

You can find out more about volunteering with us by downloading our Volunteer Handbook and reading our Volunteering Policy.
